We are located in Carrara, which is situated near the Ligurian coast at the top western corner of Tuscany, Italy. Carrara is approximately 100 km south-east of Genoa, 220 km south of Milan, and 60 km north of Pisa.

Our sculpture studio is nestled between lush green hills near the historic centre of Carrara, only 1.8 km away.   The studio is situated in the area called “Canalie”, so-called since ancient times because of the channels or canalie that descend from the Apuan Alps and merge at their feet.
The studio is on Via Carriona di Colonnata, a road which from Roman times transported marble blocks from the quarries to the sea.

On reaching Carrara, visitors see the alternating green and white marble mountain lines – locally called ‘la neve di Carrara’ (the snow of Carrara) - which surround the town. Breaking free from the Apuan’s embrace, the valleys stretch all the way to the sea and to Marina di Carrara with its bathing establishments

How to reach us from the motorway
Motorway A12:  

• Exit at Carrara and turn left towards the mountains or the quarries.
• Drive along Viale Galilei over the motorway and under a bridge to the traffic lights at the main road called the “Aurelia”.
• Turn right towards Carrara town centre (centro) in the direction of Pisa.
• At the first roundabout (has a very large sculpture in the center), turn into Viale XX Settembre and drive in the direction of the mountains which will take you to the old historical Carrara centre  
• From Carrara centre continue to the right, following directions to the hospital (ospedale)
• Near the hospital (which is on your right), turn left towards the quarries (cave di marmo) and Miseglia.  Drive along this road until you reach a stop sign at the end of a small bridge.
• Turn right towards Bedizzano and drive for exactly one kilometre.

On your right is Arco Arte which is well sign posted.

While the courses provided by Arco Arte are intended as training, they can also be considered as alternative vacations. In fact, Carrara’s geographic position offers visitors easy access by road and train to the main cities of art, such as Florence, Siena, Pisa, Cinqueterre and others.
